Feast theme compatibility with WordPress 3.5

We are super exited about WordPress 3.5 and the advances that it bring. With this version, as is the custom, various internal libraries were updated to the latest versions. One of those libraries is the JQuery UIĀ  library that powers the calendar settings in the theme.

Conversely the theme also had to be updated to allow for the implementation of the latest JQuery UI components.

As is the WP-Church theme is updated to function with WordPress 3.5 and will not provide any hitches after being updated.

Steps to updating for users who did not make any code changes to the theme.

If you downloaded WP-Church before and did not make any changes other than adding your own plugins, logo’s and contant, and you did not dip under the hood to make any changes you can follow the following steps to quickly update the theme to the latest version.

1. Log into your dashboard at Themeforest and download the theme from your downloads panel.

2. Extract the zip file and look for the feast.zip file in the extracted folder.

3. rename that folder to something like feast22.zip

4. Install the theme as you would any theme and activate.

5. After activation go to appearances->menus and reset and save your menu locations top left.

Your theme should now be updated to the latest version.

Updating the theme if you made code changes.

If you made code changes to the theme or of you added a custom background to the theme you can do the following to ensure that the theme is updated:

1. Log into your dashboard at Themeforest and download the theme from your downloads panel.

2. Extract the zip file and look for the feastĀ  folder in the extracted folder.

3. Replace the following files from the feast folder to your theme’s folder:

In the options folder replace the following files:

meta-box-functions.php and meta-box.js

If you have a caching plugin installed in your theme you can now clear the cache and everything should be fine and updated.
